European Utopia, Day Three

First Stop: bread and coffee!

Next, Phillip and I decided that we had to watch the changing of the guard. The Palace looks amazing!

Problem is, it seems every other tourist in London love to congregate there!  Fun to listen, but hard to see…

and that never makes for the greatest photos! 🙂

We then headed up birdcage walk along Hyde Park to the Westminster Abbey. Couldn’t be more beautiful!

We were a little behind schedule, so we had to skip dinner and rush straight to the theatre for

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap!

A fantastic day! 🙂

European Utopia, Day Two

On our first full day in London, we slept in and ate a late breakfast at the adorable and delicious La Pain Quotidien. Of course, we ate what anyone should while in Europe: Croissants and Cheese! Didn’t take the chance to snap a picture of the food before it was gone 🙂

First Stop: British Museum! Sadly, most of the pics of Phillip and me together are blurry from the kind strangers willing to snap an unfamiliar camera 🙂

A few of our favorites artifacts:

And this guy was awaiting outside. Adorable!

After making a quick call, we walked to the nearby Dickens Museum, where the beloved author of our BBC-based films did some of his best works.

We walked along  to St Paul’s Cathedral just in time for their Evensong Service

And finally on to the London Bridge.

A quick stop by Shakespeare’s Globe concluded our first full day.

After reviewing our map from each day’s tour, we realized we walked nine miles on average each day. Whew!

European Utopia, Day One

Phillip and I went to Louisville’s fundraising auction for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and we won the bid on a flat in Notting Hill, Central London for a week! A year, a cross-country move, and quite a few details later, we embarked on our journey. While across the pond, we decided to tag on a couple extra stops. For the next several days, be looking for the highlights and favorite photos from our trip abroad!

We used the Underground (a.k.a. the “tube!) everywhere!

And our first stop: The London Eye at Dusk!

A “pod” with a view:

Be looking for more to come!
